NOTE: To learn the solos, you need to have the chords & timing
down SOLID! The following 2 chord exercises will get you there!

~ Part 1 ~ These are the INTRO chords. Also played over each solo. Plant fingers 3 and 4 in place, and keep them there for this entire exercise, all 3 chords. DON'T lift them off between chord changes! Play along with the track untill you mess up. Then restart the track from the beginning. Do this 3 times. You'll get farther each time. hook chords Click the play button below to play a MP3. Follow the chord progression above, in the graphic. It repeats several times, getting progressively faster! It starts slower than the recording, ends considerably faster! Don't play the riff/fills between strumming the chords for this exercise. Just strum the chords. Try to match the strumming in the track. REMINDER! PLANT FINGERS 3&4 for all 3 chords. Don't left them between chord changes! hook chords Em7 G5 Em7 G5 Em7 A7sus4 Em7 A7sus4 G5 G5 OK, time for some DRILLS! Like ALL tracks, you go as far as you can until you mess up. Then STOP! Start the track from the beginning. DO NOT PRACTICE SLOPPY! Start over each time you mess up. Do this 3 times. (Or more if you want, but 3 minimum!) Then move on. Each time you come back, (Assuming you're WORKING this workshop daily!) you'll get farther. You might never be able to play the drills to the end. That's up to you. But work them HARD until you at least make good progress, and can play smoothly around half way through each drill. Here's the thing . . . after working the drills, playing the same chords or scales, riffs, whatever will seem SO EASY at the normal speed! Solo Chords Drill: Same as the exercise above except . . . 2 chords per measure! It gets fast, FAST! hook chords PLANT FINGERS 3&4 for all 3 chords. Don't left them between chord changes! Em7 G5 Em7 G5 Em7 A7sus4 Em7 A7sus4 G5 G5 ~ Part 2 ~ These are the VERSE chords, lyrics and TABS. Work off this page, or download! To download the file, click on the link. Download Text File Right click on the chord graphic below to download! verse chords To download the MP3, click on the 3 vertical dots next to the speaker icon, on the right side of the player. Verse Chord Drills. Very similar to the exercise above, but 2 chords per measure. And 1 extra chord. Same deal as the previous drill! [C/G' D/F#'] [Dsus4' Am'] [G' D'] [C' Am'] [G' G'] The lyrics and chords below are better formatted in the file.
